Laggam

Telugu movie “Laggam” is a film with a compelling concept that explores the rich rituals and traditions of a Telangana marriage while addressing the responsibilities of software engineers towards their parents. However, while the premise is intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired.

One of the film’s significant shortcomings is its portrayal of the Telangana dialect. Authentic slang is essential to ground a story in its cultural setting, but here, the cast—despite being talented actors—struggles to deliver convincing Telangana-infused dialogues. This lack of authenticity is noticeable throughout and weakens the cultural connection the film seeks to establish.

The lead actors, however, shine with their performances. The hero and heroine not only display strong acting skills but also deliver their lines with conviction, bringing emotional depth to their roles. Unfortunately, the comedy track feels misplaced and fails to strike a chord, often feeling like a distraction from the main plot.

On a brighter note, the film succeeds in delivering a heartfelt message about balancing personal ambitions with family responsibilities, particularly for software engineers caught between modern careers and traditional values.

“Laggam” is an earnest attempt with a strong message and notable performances but falters in execution, especially in dialect and humor. With better attention to cultural authenticity, it could have been much more impactful.
