Retribution
“Retribution,” directed by Nimród Antal and starring Liam Neeson, left me disappointed. The premise—a man trapped in his car with his kids while a bomb threatens their lives—sounds thrilling, but the execution falls flat. The plot lacks depth, and the screenplay does little to keep you engaged. It feels like a by-the-numbers action movie, rehashing familiar tropes we’ve seen countless times before.
Liam Neeson delivers his usual performance, but even his presence can’t save this film. The story is predictable, and the tension just isn’t there. There’s little character development, and the emotional stakes, which should be the heart of a story like this, fail to resonate. Instead of pulling me in, the movie felt like it was just going through the motions.
Overall, “Retribution” is forgettable and uninspired. If you’re looking for a compelling action thriller, this one is a miss. Save your time and watch something else.
